RSU SUPPORTS MUSIC BUILDING COMMUNITY

SATURDAY, May 19, 7PM Orlando -

Come out for the inaugural concert of the Central Florida Community Orchestra 2 blocks from Lake Eola and one block from the Central Branch Public Library, at the Downtown Baptist Church, 120 East Pine Street 32801. No tickets are needed and admission is free. Donations to Central Florida Community Arts are gratefully accepted.

Program - AMERICAN POPS

Something for everyone from Symphonic Dances of Fiddler on the Roof to Eleanor Rigby, American Folk Song Rhapsody, Blue Tango, A Salute to Big Bands, and Movie Themes composed by John Williams and Korngold's The Sea Hawk

Fiddler on the Roof to Eleanor Rigby to a medley of John Williams favorites. No tickets are needed, as the concert will be FREE, with donations to Central Florida Community Arts, a 501(c)(3) organization, gratefully accepted. So make sure to join us at Downtown Baptist Church, 120 East Pine Street, 32801 on Saturday, May 19 at 7:00pm!

Our Mission:

The Rachmaninov Society USA was developed to build bridges of understanding between countries, cultures and peoples. Sergei Vaselyevich Rachmaninov was born in Russia in 1873 and died in the United States of America in 1943. He was a composer, conductor, concert pianist with a great concern for humanitarian needs and the use of music as a dialogue of peace and understanding. In 1938 with Alexandra Tolstoy, daughter of the great writer Leo Tolstoy, he helped found Tolstoy Farm in New York for people who had lost most everything and needed to rebuild their lives. We wish to develop a program of student exchange, masterclasses, artists helping artists, community concerts and discussions to share the philosophy and techniques of the Russian Piano School and the life and works of Sergei Rachmaninov as a great artist with a good heart.
